If you're just starting out to learn more about the different types of men's suits, well you're in luck because I'm going to teach you everything you need to know about the different types of men's suits right here in this article. Learning about suits should be important for any man who cares about his appearance. There are so many men who wear suits these days who just wear them as some sort of a uniform and nothing more. The most popular type of men's suits these days is the single breasted suit. Now a single breasted suit is usually your common 2 piece suit containing a suit jacket that buttons up in the front and is most common being either Mens 2 Button Suit or 3 Button Suit which can have either a notched lapel which is the collar part that blends towards where the suit jacket buttons or have peaked lapels which is a more fashion-oriented suit and seen mostly on Italian style suits. The pants or slacks on single breasted suits can come with either flat front pants or pleated pants for a slightly baggier look. Generally the length of a basic single breasted suit will be about 31 to 32 inches long and should basically go no lower than the hips. A 2 button suit seems to work better for the taller and slender type of man and shows off more the necktie as opposed to the 3 button type of suit. Most executive or CEO suits are almost always 2 button suits or they may be 3 button but have the lapels pressed to resemble a 2 button suit.

The next different type of men's suit is called a Double Breasted Mens Suit. Now a double breasted suit is the type of suit that is readily different than a single breasted type of suit by the way that the front of the suit jacket sort of crosses over the torso and buttons on the side. A double breasted suit will have two sets of buttons of either 2 or 3 on each side of the front of the double breasted jacket. Double breasted suits are very regal looking and are more for wearing to events when you get dressed up. They are not for wearing to the business world at all. Double breasted suits generally come with peaked lapels and feature pleated pants because they are a more fashionable style type of suit. Double breasted suits generally should be worn on men who are taller or have a slender type of physique than on someone who is either stocky or portly. When a man has the proper physique to wear a double breasted suit and looks right in it will look better than all the other men in the room. That is the effect that a double breasted suit can have.

The last different type of suit that is very common is the 3 Piece men's Suit

or vested suit. Your 3 piece suit is basically a single breasted suit that comes with the addition of a vest included and were more popular in the business world many years ago but are seldom seen there now. You mostly see 3 piece suits on people going to church and wedding because they have a decidedly more formal appearance than a 2 piece suit and comes with the ability to take off one's suit jacket and still look dressed with the vest intact. The vest can sometimes have lapels on them but those are almost always made for a fashion suit of some type and generally come sans lapel. Now that I've explained the main different types of suits, you now have the ability of having fun starting your suit wardrobe.
